Delaware County Probate Court Fees and Filing

Summary release runs $60 to $100. Publication costs can add $50 to $150 on top of that. The court takes cash, checks, money orders, and credit or debit cards. A convenience fee applies to card payments.
Ohio sets statutory executor fees. The rate is 4% of the first $100,000, 3% of the next $300,000, and 2% of anything above $400,000. These fees come out of the estate before it passes to beneficiaries. If you are filing a new estate case, you need to bring the original will and a certified death certificate. You also need to complete Form 1.0, which lists the surviving spouse, children, next of kin, legatees, and devisees. Mail notice to all heirs. If you cannot find their address, you must publish notice in a local paper.
For small estates under $35,000, a release from administration may work. This path is simpler and costs less. Talk to the court staff about which filing option fits your case.
